Every fit, whether a retrofit for your current bicycle or a custom fit prior to purchasing a new one, is designed to help the rider achieve a higher level of comfort and performance. With our equipment and expertise, we can help you enjoy a more positive riding experience, whether that means shaving seconds (or minutes!) off your triathlon time or simply working in harmony with your current fitness and flexibility to better enjoy your time on the bike.
Each discipline of cycling requires a slightly different setup and approach to fitting. We have the experience to dial in your fit for no mater where your passion may lie. All of The Urbane Cyclist’s fit technicians have been trained at Slowtwitch.com’s California compound with Dan Empfield and John Cobb. David also earned a Bicycle Size and Positioning certification from Barnett Bicycle Institute in 2002.
All fit sessions occur outside the shop’s business hours to ensure that you have 100% of our undivided attention as we move through the fitting process. The session begins with an interview to gain insight into your riding history and experience. We also want to get better acquainted with your goals for the fitting, be it to banish discomfort and numbness, or to craft a more agressive, competitive body position. Next, we observe your current setup and posture after a brief warm up period. From there, we tweak the fit- one variable at a time- until we find the most ideal position for your current level of fitness and flexibility. Fit sessions begin at $150 and are done by appointment. Please call to set up a time.
